Transition days for our new Year 7 pupils for September 2021, will take place either Tuesday 29th July or Wednesday 30th July 2021. (An additional transition day has been arranged for Stonebroom Primary School only on Tuesday 6th July 2021).
Please see below information for Parents/Carers and pupils, which has been sent out to you via your current primary school. If you have any questions concerning transition please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the academy directly on 01773 832331.
Due to the recent Government announcement, we are unfortunately unable to have all parents in the academy for ‘Meet the Tutor’ evening. We will be moving all of our information content online and will be providing a link so that you may watch this on YouTube on the evening of Wednesday 30 June. This video will contain lots of very valuable information and we would ask for you to watch this with your son/ daughter and to contact us if you have any questions which are not addressed in the videos.
Meet the Tutor Evening – Wednesday 30 June, 4-6.30pm
We would, however, like to offer you the opportunity to come and meet face-to-face with us outside. The current regulations do allow for us to meet with groups of 30 (maximum) at the academy; this will be outside on the academy grounds in our front Quad area. If the weather is looking inclement, we will go ahead with the meetings but please do bring an umbrella. There will be limited car parking in the main staff car park if you are booking onto an earlier slot prior to 4.30pm in this case the bus park will be open for visitor car parking.
If you would like to join us for an introduction and brief outline of our work and approach, please book onto one date/time slot to visit the academy by completing the electronic form here Meet the Tutor
We are able to offer meeting times on both Wednesday 30 and Friday 2 July. In order to be able to meet with as many parents as possible we are only able to accommodate a maximum of two adults per pupil and we unfortunately have to ask that the Year 6 children and any younger siblings do not join us on this occasion.
We have put together a list of activity suggestions for our Key Stage 3 students to try over the summer holidays: watch here.
Please feel free to send any photos or work to email@example.com for us to display in September.
Starting secondary school is an exciting time and at the David Nieper Academy, we want you to enjoy your time with us.
Before starting, all pupils who have been offered a place will be invited to one of our transition days. These are fixed days, in the summer term (when you are in year 6), to help you be prepared for the start of your first term with us. You will come to the Academy, meet your tutor and classmates and be given all the information you need to know.
Starters who join us part-way through the year or in years 8-13 will also be invited to spend a day with us in the term before they join us.
