Governance – Lindsey Ford
Lindsey has worked in Education for the past 19 years, where she supported children and their families with special educational needs. For 15 years she worked in primary education, and the last 4 years in secondary. Her first job was as a nursery nurse before moving to work in the NHS, allowing her to develop a good overall understanding of children’s development and educational needs.
Lindsey worked in the local area for the past 10 years and was a parent governor at Croft Infant school for 4 years which has given her a good insight into the strengths of the local community as well as the areas that need development. She went to Derby University to gain a foundation degree in Children’s Services.
Lindsey has a passion for inclusive education for all children. She is an Autism Advocate and works very closely with many of the specialist services in the area. Lindsey is married to Carl with a 12-year-old son who has just started secondary school. This has given her a new perspective on the transition process from primary school to a secondary setting.
She loves walking her 2 dogs, the outdoors and cooking new recipes for her family.
