Science
Science is the pursuit and application of knowledge and understanding of the natural and social world following a systematic methodology based on evidence. At David Nieper Academy we teach science to all students from Year 7 through to Year 11 allowing them to discover not only how the world around them works but how to critically assess new ideas preparing them for life in a wide range of careers and further education pathways.
All students will study Biology, Chemistry and Physics gaining a minimum of 2 GCSE’s with some students gaining 3 GCSE’s through the separate science pathway. Practical experiments have always played a large part of any scientific education and we continue to promote their use in the classroom to help students see scientific principles in action for themselves.
We firmly believe that science is critical to all students and strive to instill our own enthusiasm for the subject in all the students that we teach.
