What will you study?

The course is made up of four units which cover the broad range of the sports industry. Two of the units are assessed internally through the production of a portfolio of evidence. This evidence is generated through written assignments, presentations or practical demonstrations.

Unit 1 Anatomy and Physiology (Exam) – The examination you will complete lasts for one hour thirty minutes and has 80 marks. The test will have different types of questions including short-answer and extended open response questions.

Unit 2 Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being – This unit focuses on exploring client screening and lifestyle assessment, fitness training methods and fitness programming to support improvements in a client’s health and well-being.

Unit 3 Professional Development in the Sports Industry – This unit will explore the knowledge and skills required for different career pathways in the sports industry. You will take part in, and reflect on, a personal skills audit, career action plan and practical interview assessment activities.

Unit 5: Application of Fitness Testing – You will gain an understanding of the requirements of fitness testing and learn how to safely conduct a range of fitness tests for different components of fitness.

This course is suitable for students who are interested in learning about the sporting sector. Students must enjoy sport as they will be expected to perform in all units.
